Czech Republic thanks Baltic states for expelling Russian diplomats

Czech Foreign Minister Jakub Kulhanek thanked the Baltic states for expelling Russian diplomats “as a sign of solidarity” with Prague.

“The Baltic countries have always been very close friends of the Czech Republic. They confirmed this by showing solidarity with the Czech Republic. Thank you, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, for your strong solidarity and for being with us, “ he wrote on Twitter.

On April 23, the Estonian Foreign Ministry announced the expulsion of a Russian diplomat from the country in solidarity with the Czech Republic.

The Latvian Foreign Ministry also announced the expulsion of one Russian diplomat, and Lithuania, in turn, announced the expulsion of two diplomats from Russia.

On April 22, Kulhanek said that the number of employees of the Russian Embassy in Prague will be reduced to the level of the Czech diplomatic mission in Moscow.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has strongly protested to the Czech Ambassador in Moscow, Vitezslav Pivonka, in connection with the additional measures taken by Prague against Russian diplomats.
