The last plane of the German Defense Ministry has left Afghanistan, the ministry said. The FRG evacuated 5,300 people, including 4,100 Afghans.
“The last A400M Bundeswehr aircraft left the airspace of Afghanistan, it took off from Kabul at 6:20 p.m. The military evacuation operation is complete,” the Bundeswehr said in a message on Twitter.
Many countries are conducting evacuations of their citizens and Afghans who want to leave Afghanistan amid a change of power in the country. On August 15, the Taliban announced they were in control of the country. Today, August 26, there were explosions near the airport in Kabul, where the evacuation continues. Dozens of people were killed and injured.
