In one of the Lithuanian hospitals, five doses of vaccine against coronavirus were given to one person by mistake.
This is reported by Delfi.
The incident occurred in mid-January in a hospital in the city of Marijampol. “It happened that the vaccine was not diluted and all five doses were administered to one person. This is a human factor. Nothing bad happened to the patient,” the hospital director said.
According to him, the woman feels well, only she feels a strong pain in the injection site.
After the incident, doctors consulted the Kaunas clinic and representatives of Pfizer, the company that produces the vaccine.
Four people did not receive the vaccine because of the incident.
Recall that the Lithuanian government, at the suggestion of the Ministry of Health, extended the quarantine and restrictions on movement between regions until February 28.
The proposal to extend the quarantine was justified by the fact that with the introduction of a strict quarantine the incidence of COVID-19 decreased, but still remains high.
