Apple has captured nearly a quarter of the global smartphone market

The head of Apple, Tim Cook, said that according to the latest data, the active base of Apple devices is 1.65 billion units. The company has become the largest seller in the world.

In an interview with Reuters, Cook said sales were up significantly in China, up 57 percent to $21.31 billion.

“We had two of the top three best-selling smartphones in urban areas in China,” Cook said.

Data from research firm IDC showed that Apple’s shipments rose 22 percent to a record 90.1 million phones in the quarter.

By the way, Apple recently topped the ranking of the most expensive brands in the world for the first time in four years, compiled by American consulting firm Brand Finance.
