What to expect from Apple's June 7 presentation

Apple has sent out invitations to its annual developer conference, WWDC 2021, to journalists. It will take place on June 7 and will be completely held in an online format. In addition to the traditional updates of all branded operating systems, the event may also include product announcements, according to insiders.

Apple’s annual conference WWDC 2021 will be held on June 7 in the form of a live broadcast from the Apple Park headquarters, according to official invitations on behalf of the company. The start of the event is scheduled for 20.00 Moscow time, according to Mashable.

Traditionally, within the framework of WWDC, the Apple company presents new versions of its operating systems — iOS, macOS, iPad OS, tvOS, and watchOS. It is possible that Cupertino’s will provide details about the new functions of managing their devices for people with disabilities — for the first time they became known last week.

As for the announcements of new devices, everything is not so clear.

Mashable notes that at the last presentation in April, Apple already showed a lot of gadgets, including a 24-inch iMac, AirTags and iPad Pro, so it is possible that on June 7 there will not be a single product announcement, and the entire event will be dedicated exclusively to software.

In turn, a well-known insider John Prosser said that an updated MacBook Pro based on the Apple Silicon processor may be presented at WWDC. The same assumption was previously made by a Bloomberg reporter.

Prosser pointed to the fact that at Apple’s official invitation, all three characters are looking at laptops, which may be a hint of an upcoming announcement.

It is expected that the new MacBook Pro will receive a completely new design, a proprietary “Apple” processor, as well as, probably, an updated mini-LED display technology. According to rumors, the appearance of the laptop will resemble the modern version of the iPad Pro. The MacBook Pro will be available in two versions-14 and 16 inches. In addition, insiders expect the return of the HDMI port and SD card slot, as well as the addition of a special connector for MagSafe.

Despite the fact that the main focus of WWDC is traditionally focused on software, new devices from Apple were announced more than once during the conference.

For example, in 2019, the company introduced the Mac Pro, as well as the Apple Pro Display XDR monitor, and in 2017 — a smart HomePod speaker, updated iMac monoblocks, and a new iPad Pro tablet.
