The statement says the export of American currency from the territory of Afghanistan is strictly prohibited. Smuggling currency and antiques into the country is also prohibited.
“We are announcing to all citizens that it is strictly forbidden to smuggle dollars and antiques or take them out of the country under any pretext by land and air. In this regard, we draw attention to the fact that if such items are found in anyone’s possession, they will be immediately confiscated and their owners will be punished according to the law,” the Taliban said.
The ban applies to both ground and air travel.
Earlier, the Taliban blocked the road to Kabul airport and said Afghans would no longer be allowed there.
