The European Parliament adopted a resolution proposing to the European Commission to work on the suspension of the launch of the Belarusian nuclear power plant.
This is evidenced by the results of the voting at the plenary session.
642 out of 692 MEPs voted for the resolution.
The EP considers it necessary to suspend the process of launching the nuclear power plant until all the EU recommendations are fully implemented, until “all the necessary measures to improve safety are taken, and until the Belarusian society and neighboring countries are properly informed about the measures taken”.
“MEPs express serious concern about the safety of the Ostrovets nuclear power plant in Belarus and demand to suspend its commercial launch,” — from the press service of the EP.
