The head of the European Council, Charles Michel, called for speeding up preparations for the distribution of the coronavirus vaccine among the population of EU Member States without waiting for its approval, following the results of the online EU summit on November 19 at a press conference.
“We must speed up preparations at the national level so that the vaccine is available to all citizens when it is approved,” Michel said.
Recall that on November 18, the CEO of the German pharmaceutical company BioNTech Ugur Shahin said that the regulatory authorities of the United States and Europe may approve an experimental vaccine against coronavirus infection jointly produced by BioNTech and the American company Pfizer in December this year.
Earlier it was reported that the effectiveness rate of the coronavirus vaccine developed by BioNTech and Pfizer was 95%. In connection with this information, the French authorities have already started preparing the infrastructure for the mass vaccination of the population.
