Former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani scheduled a meeting with the government on the day of his escape from the country, and while officials were waiting for him, he flew from the Kabul airport. This was told by the Ambassador of Afghanistan to Tajikistan, Muhammad Zohir Agbar.
According to the diplomat, none of the former leader’s associates knew about the impending escape. Ghani not only abandoned his colleagues to the mercy of fate but also robbed the people, taking with him budget money.
“Ashraf Ghani’s adviser called the Defense Ministry and said that he would be there at 16.00 for a meeting, they prepared, they were waiting for him, but at that time three planes, where Ghani and his relatives were, took off from the Kabul airport,” the ambassador said.
According to Agbar, it is Ghani who is responsible for such a rapid seizure of Afghanistan by the Taliban. The ambassador said that Ghani removed honest officials from the government, putting inexperienced personnel in their place.
On August 15, the Taliban announced the establishment of control over the entire territory of Afghanistan. On the same day, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani resigned and left the country.
