Slovakia will start using the Russian vaccine against the coronavirus “Sputnik V” from June. This was stated on Wednesday by the Minister of Health of the republic Vladimir Lengvarsky, whose words were quoted by Slovak Radio.
“Slovakia will include Sputnik V in the list of vaccines used in the republic from the beginning of June,” he said.
Lengvarsky said that the Russian side has officially agreed to the use of Sputnik V in Slovakia. The first batch arrived in the republic on March 1.
“The vaccine will become our property after we pay for the delivery [of the received batch],” the minister said.
“Sputnik V” will be able to vaccinate residents of Slovakia at the age of 18 to 60 years. The state, as stressed by Lengvarsky, will bear full responsibility for the vaccination process with the Russian drug.
At the moment, the head of the Ministry of Health specified, vaccination centers are being determined, where Satellite V vaccinations will be carried out. This and other formalities will take 1-2 weeks. All organizational and technical issues will be resolved by the beginning of June.
