Framing Britney Spears, a documentary about the #FreeBritney movement and the legal battle between Britney Spears and her father Jamie Spears, who has had custody of the singer since 2008, premiered in February. If rumors are to be believed, the strict custody conditions prevent Britney from getting married or having a baby without Jamie’s consent, she is also forbidden to sign documents, make big purchases, and generally manage her finances.
Sharon Stone commented on the #FreeBritney situation. In a conversation with Kelly Clarkson, the actress admitted that Spears sent her a letter in 2007 asking for help.
“Britney wrote me a very long, poignant letter at a very difficult time in her life – around the time she shaved her head. She asked that I help her,” Stone shares.

– But I was also a very difficult time, I was not able to help even myself. The truth is, we both needed help.”
“It’s actually really hard to be a successful woman without having someone in control of you and your finances,” the actress added.
– I can definitely say that I’ve found myself in that situation a few times. Things were out of control, and it was awful. It was very difficult to take back control of yourself and your finances.”
Stone did not go into detail and explain who was controlling her. As for Britney, she also commented on Framing Britney Spears. On her Instagram, the singer said that her life has always been an object of speculation, and the part of the movie she was shown upset her.
“I was embarrassed by the intonation with which they showed me and my life. I cried for two weeks. I still cry at times and do what I can to try to keep it positive. Dancing gives me pleasure. I’m not here to be a perfect example, but to share the goodness,” Spears wrote.
In March, Britney’s lawyer Samuel D. Ingham III asked the court to strip the singer’s father Jamie Spears of her custody status. Court documents say Britney wants to appoint her manager Jody Montgomery, to whom Jamie temporarily gave custody in 2019 because of health issues, as her guardian. In addition, the singer is opposed to her father continuing to manage her estate and wants to hire a qualified fiduciary to handle her finances.

Jamie, for his part, intends to retain the singer’s guardian status. According to western media reports, he has already hired lawyers to represent him in court. At the same time, Spears wants to pay legal fees and court costs (about $2 million in total) out of his daughter’s pocket. Rumor has it that Jamie and other relatives of the singer are embezzling money she earned. According to E! News, Jamie received a custody salary of $228,000 last year. He gets $16,000 each month, with another $2,000 he spends on office rent.
Jamie’s lover, Iranian fitness trainer Sam Asgari, disagrees with Jamie’s policy. In his Instagram, he spoke harshly about the singer’s father: “It’s important for people to understand that I have zero respect for a man who tries to control our relationship and constantly create new barriers for us. I think Jamie is a total asshole. I don’t want to go into details because I respect the right to privacy, but at the same time I didn’t come to this country to not be able to express my opinion.”
