Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephone conversation. This was reported on the Kremlin website.
During the conversation, they discussed the development of events in Nagorno-Karabakh and confirmed their mutual readiness to cooperate to achieve a peaceful solution to the conflict in the region.
It is noted that the Russian leader informed Erdogan about a series of telephone contacts with the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia, which were “focused on finding options for an early cessation of hostilities and reaching a political and diplomatic settlement.”
On October 22, Putin stated that Russia takes a position on the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh that would allow it to enjoy the confidence of both sides. According to him, Russia has always had specialties not only with Armenia but also with Azerbaijan.
