Kim Jong-un bursts into tears during the ceremony

The North Korean leader spoke at the military parade and said that he could not fully “justify the hopes placed on him.”

The head of the DPRK Kim Jong-un spoke at the parade of military equipment, where he apologized to the citizens and burst into tears. It was reported by The Korea Times on Monday, October 12.

In particular, Kim Jong-un said that “despite the high confidence of the North Korean people,” he could not fully “justify the hopes placed on him.”

“Although I was entrusted with an important responsibility to lead this country, defending the cause of the great comrades Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, my efforts and sincerity were not enough to save our citizens from the difficulties in their lives. I am very sorry,” said the head of Northern Korea.

Then Kim Jong-un took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes. Experts say that the DPRK leader’s expressions of emotion were intended to show that he is a “compassionate and global leader.” This is confirmed by reports in state media, which write that Kim Jong-un “comforted the entire world suffering from COVID-19.”

Recall that earlier North Korea demonstrated a new ballistic missile at the parade. The military parade in the DPRK was timed to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the Labor Party. Foreign media were not allowed to the event.
