In the UK, the lists of people for the third dose of vaccination were changed in favor of the most vulnerable and poor citizens of the country, The Daily Mirror newspaper reports.

Health Secretary Sajid Javid said that the vulnerable population will have access to booster injections against COVID-19 from next month. The need to carry out an additional stage of vaccination was proved after scientists at the University of Oxford found that the effectiveness of Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines decreases over time.

It is noted that a decrease in efficiency was most often observed among study participants aged 35 years and older than among younger people.

The study also says that those who became infected with coronavirus after undergoing a course of vaccination have the same viral load as those who were not vaccinated. According to British scientists, this is due to the fact that the delta strain is more dangerous than the previously dominant alpha strain in the UK.
