German Foreign Minister Maas said that Biden refused to impose sanctions against Nord Stream AG and its management
This was stated at a press conference by German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, reports Reuters.
“There is a presidential waiver for Nord Stream 2 and its CEO, who is a German citizen,” he said.
Earlier, the media reported that the new US President Joe Biden is not ready to break with Germany because of the “Nord Stream-2”.
Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that Washington’s position on the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline in Europe remains unchanged, they remain firmly opposed to this Russian project, which contributes to undermining security in the region.
