Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg said that the social network has deleted 18 million posts containing false information about the coronavirus. He told CBS News about this.
“If we see dangerous misinformation on our platform, we delete it. This is contrary to our policy, ” Zuckerberg said.
Earlier it was reported that Facebook lifted the ban on posts about the artificial origin of a new type of coronavirus. According to representatives of the social network, in light of the ongoing investigations into the origin of COVID-19 and consultations with public health experts, they will no longer delete claims that COVID-19 was created by man.
It was noted that advertisements calling for the refusal of vaccination will also be blocked on Facebook.
The administration of the social network began deleting publications about the artificial creation of the coronavirus in February of this year as part of its policy to combat misinformation about COVID-19.
