COVID-passport for just 100 euros: a gang of scammers was caught in Germany

The scammers managed to forge all the stamps, signatures, and even a mark about the vaccination with BioNTech or AstraZeneca

In Germany, they started selling fake vaccination certificates — a group of fraudsters was discovered in Cologne, Germany.

Fake documents were bought by people who are still hesitant about COVID-vaccination but want to travel and enjoy other freedoms, such as visiting restaurants or entertainment venues.

The scammers worked in encrypted Telegram chats. For 100 euros, they promised to provide a fake with all the stamps and signatures, including a mark about vaccination with BioNTech or AstraZeneca, in just three days. At the same time, some customers were simply deceived — after paying the money, they did not receive anything at all.

The scheme could reach a national scale.

The investigation continues, at the moment six people are suspected of involvement in the fraud. The police suspect that the fraudsters colluded with the doctors.

As of today, more than 44% of the adult population of Germany has taken at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and more than 18% of Germans have already been fully vaccinated. On the day of April 28 alone, almost 1.1 million vaccinations were made.

And by the end of this month, the country is going to cancel priority vaccination for representatives of certain age groups, professions, and risk groups and open an entry for everyone.
