Coronavirus deaths reach a new high in Portugal

Another 303 -related deaths have been reported in in the last 24 hours, a new high since the start of the pandemic.

This was reported by Publico.

The Directorate General of Health also reported that 16,432 new cases were identified overnight.

The number of infections reported since March rose to 685,383. There were 11,608 confirmed deaths from  and complications from the infection.

At the same time, the number of hospitalizations and people in intensive care units has decreased. There are now 6,565 people in hospitals, 38 fewer than a day earlier. There are now 782 patients in intensive care, one less than on Tuesday.

8,946 people have been found cured of the disease, bringing the total number of people who have recovered to 493,699.

Recall that Portugal’s health minister said authorities are considering seeking help from other European Union countries amid a spike in COVID-19 cases.
