Online meeting platform Zoom’s revenues skyrocketed during the coronavirus crisis, as the number of users of its services increased significantly due to the number of people in self-isolation and working remotely. Business Insider reports.
The revenue of the American company at the end of the 2nd financial quarter exceeded its volume for the entire 2019, reaching $663.5 million. The strong performance allowed the company to think about connecting to its email service, creating a messaging app and a calendar.
Implementation of such plans increases Zoom’s interest in attracting corporate clients. In this area, it will have to compete with Google and Microsoft platforms. The company is already working on an email platform.
Experts point out that the emergence of effective vaccines against COVID-19 could reduce the need for video conferencing over time, so Zoom will need to develop new areas of its activities.
