According to the results of the 2nd quarter, the Chinese company Xiaomi rose to 2nd place in the ranking of the largest smartphone manufacturers in terms of supply. Apple took 3rd place. Such success in the history of Xiaomi is observed for the first time.
In the quarter ended, it owned 17% of the global smartphone market, the leader of the rating of Samsung-19%. Apple ended the quarter with a 14% share. The TOP 5 includes two more manufacturers from China — Vivo, and Oppo.
The market research was conducted by Canalys. In her review, she noted that Xiaomi managed to increase deliveries due to the rapid development of its foreign business.
Thus, the supply of its smartphones to Latin American countries soared by almost 300%, and to African countries by 150%. The volume of deliveries of Xiaomi smartphones to Western European countries increased by 50% in the 2nd quarter.
Canalys also reported that the volume of global smartphone shipments increased by 12% in April-June compared to the indicator recorded a year earlier.
