WHO does not consider coronavirus a seasonal disease

According to the head of the technical group of the emergency diseases division of the World Health Organization, Maria van Kerkhove, the organization does not consider the  a seasonal disease.

“When it comes to virus waves, we mean seasonality. For example, in influenza, seasonality is expressed as an increase in cases of illness in certain months. We do not yet see the seasonality in this virus, ” said the WHO expert.

She explained that COVID-19 circulates in all regions, in all conditions and climates.
