WHO announces China's victory over malaria

The World Health Organization (WHO) has issued a certificate confirming China’s victory over malaria in the country. This is reported on the organization’s website.

“Success has been earned through hard work and has only come after decades of focused and sustained effort. With this announcement, joins a growing number of countries that are showing the world that a malaria-free future is a viable goal,” said WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Gebreyesus.

At the same time, WHO recalled that in the 1940s, reported more than 30 million cases of malaria each year.
