A group of American strategic bombers B-52H, which was in the UK at the forward European airbase Fairford, returned to the United States. This was reported by the press service of the US Air Force.
“Mission completed,” the message says.
In August, six B-52H bombers capable of carrying nuclear weapons were airlifted to Fairford Air Force Base from the mainland United States.
During their stay in Europe, they made at least 30 training flights over Europe, including at the western and southern borders of Russia.
Five B-52Hs returned to their permanent base at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota from England. Another is undergoing renovations at the Fairford base.
