Tusk headed the main opposition party of Poland

Former Polish Prime Minister and former president of the European Council Donald Tusk headed the main opposition party “Civic Platform”.

This is reported by RMF24.

During a meeting of the National Council of the Civic Platform, Boris Budka, who has been its head until now, said that Donald Tusk is returning to Polish politics as the leader of this party.

Budka said that “we need to pass the baton in order to achieve victory together, to achieve success.”

“On this day, at my invitation and at my request, Donald Tusk returns to Polish politics, returns 100%. I want to hand over control of the Platform to you today, Donald, and I want you to lead us to victory, “ he said.

“I am back, as Boris Budka said, 100%. I also came back because you are a team of really extraordinary people, “ Tusk said in turn.

Civic Platform hopes that Tusk’s return will renew the party, which has been in secondary positions for several years after a number of defeats inflicted by the ruling Law and Justice party of Jaroslaw Kaczynski.

Tusk’s return will restore his rivalry with Jaroslaw Kaczynski.

Tusk views Kaczynski as a reactionary nationalist with an internal political philosophy that harms Poland. In turn, Kaczynski views his old enemy as a self-serving politician whose loyalty belongs to the elite, and not to the interests of Poland.
