Turkey introduced a weekend lockdown

Turkey has decided to tighten the previously imposed curfew in connection with the pandemic of the coronavirus infection COVID-19 due to an increase in cases of infection.

This was announced by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan after a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, Hurriyet reports.

In the country, from Tuesday, December 1, the curfew will begin to operate on weekdays from 21:00 to 05:00 local time.

On weekends, it will be generally prohibited to go outside — the restriction will operate from 9:00 pm Friday to 5:00 am Monday. Only representatives of companies from such spheres as health care, supply, logistics, and others included in a special list will be able to be on the street.

Restaurants will be able to work only for delivery.

In addition, people under 20 and older people over 65 are prohibited from using public transport.
