Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said that Ankara has managed to find a new gas field in the Black Sea. This is reported by the portal Daily Sabah.
“Our drilling vessel Fatih has discovered a new natural gas field with a volume of 135 billion cubic meters in the Amasra-1 well at the Sakarya site in the Black Sea,” the Turkish head of state said.
According to Erdogan, now the volume of natural gas reserves found by Turkey in the Black Sea has reached 540 billion cubic meters.
In October, it was reported that Turkey had discovered additional gas reserves in the Black Sea. According to Erdogan, the country intends to start producing gas from this field in 2023.
