By shelling the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, Armenia has shown that it is a real threat to European energy security. The Turkish government said this on Tuesday.
As it was noted in the Turkish government, unfortunately, Armenia’s impunity gives it more and more impudence.
“The world community must immediately cross all military operations of Armenia and demand the withdrawal of troops from the occupied territories,” the Turkish government said.
It should be noted that on October 7, 2020, Armenia fired cassette-type missiles at the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.
Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, wrote about it on his Twitter page.
“Armenia fired cassette-type missiles at the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline. The rockets fell 10 meters from the BTC pipeline in the Yevlakh district. Over 300 pieces of cassette-type missiles were scattered around. The pipeline was not damaged. ANAMA works on the spot. These are desperate attempts by Armenia to attack the energy infrastructure,” he wrote.
On October 4, Armenian armed forces fired a rocket attack on Ganja city. The same day, Armenian armed forces launched a rocket attack on the industrial town of Mingachevir. Besides that, two medium-range rockets with a range of 300 km were fired on Khizi and Absheron districts.
The Armenian side officially recognized the retreat of its troops on October 6.
Armenian armed forces in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan carry out “tactical retreat” on a number of sections of the line of contact. This was stated by the “speaker” of Karabakh separatist leader Vahram Poghosyan.
What Poghosyan called “tactical retreat” is in fact the flight of the Armenian Armed Forces under crushing strikes of the Azerbaijani army.
The conflict between the two South Caucasian countries arose in 1988 due to Armenia’s territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding districts — 20 percent of Azerbaijan’s territory — are under occupation by Armenian armed forces.
