The coronavirus pandemic will not be the last, so countries need to strengthen health systems and be prepared for emergencies. This was stated by the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adan Ghebreyesus.
“History tells us that the current pandemic will not be the last and that epidemics are a reality,” Gebreyesus said.
He also stressed that over the past 12 months, the world has turned upside down.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 80 million cases have been registered in the world, 56 million have recovered, more than 1.7 million people have died.
