Price also added that Washington’s main goal in this matter is to prevent Russia from using the gas pipeline “as a tool of coercion against Ukraine or any other country.”

At the same time, according to Anthony Blinken, the United States is cooperating with Germany in studying compensation to Ukraine for the possible loss of transit payments when Nord Stream 2 is completed, but they do not rule out that they will also impose sanctions against the operator of the Nord Stream 2 AG project.
