The United States blacklisted two Chinese citizens, one Australian, and six Chinese and one Australian on the Iranian blacklist. This is stated in a statement released on Monday by the US Treasury Department.
Restrictions against Chinese citizens and organizations were introduced for supporting the Iranian transport company IRISL (Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines), which allegedly helps the Iranian Armed Forces.
As explained by the Ministry of Finance, Australian resident Ahmed Lukman Talib and his company were blacklisted along with others for providing financial and material support to terrorism. According to Washington, Iran is a country sponsoring terrorism. Thus, the Talib, according to the American authorities, helped the Al-Qaeda terrorist group. He was engaged in the trade in precious stones and sent the money he received to terrorists.
Inclusion on the sanctions list means a freeze of assets in the United States and a ban for American citizens or companies from doing business with its persons involved.
