The connection of the American anti-drug agency DEA with the alleged murderers of Haitian President Jovenel Moiz has confirmed: one of the suspects turned out to be an informant of the agency.
A representative of the department confirmed this information, stressing that the group of killers “did not act on behalf of the DEA.” He also said that the agency had assisted the Haitian authorities in catching the alleged criminal.
Information that some killers had connections with US law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, appeared earlier on July 13. It was reported that after the murder of the country’s leader, one informant contacted the staff of the department. They, in turn, called on him to surrender to the local authorities and notified him about these contacts of officials in Haiti.
Earlier in the day, it became known that the US Department of Justice will conduct its own investigation into the murder of the President of Haiti.
The residence of the President of Haiti, Jovenel Moiz, was attacked on the night of July 7, before his death he was tortured. The criminals fatally wounded the head of state with a firearm, he received 12 wounds. Among the eliminated assassins of the president were three foreigners.
