The US conducted secret exercises in Europe

Exercise Austere Challenge 2021 took place throughout the week. They involved 4,400 troops from the United States and NATO countries.

The European Command of the US Armed Forces (EUCOM) completed on Friday, October 23, a secret military exercise in Germany. The military practiced rapid mobilization of forces in case of war, according to Stars and Stripes.

Major General John Boyd, EUCOM Director of Exercise and Evaluation, said the 2021 Austere Challenge took place over a week. They involved 4,400 troops from the United States and NATO countries.

“They (the teachings) Are broad in scope. It would be fair to say that we are working on a myriad of problems,” Boyd said.

The US European Command noted that it was practicing the unification of the allied forces on land, sea, air, cyber and outer space in the event of a conflict.

“The exercise took place at a time of widespread military concern over the threat from Russia,” the statement said.

Recall that in 2020 NATO countries will spend more than $1 trillion on defense. The US military spending will amount to almost $785 billion, the expenses of the countries of Europe and Canada — more than $307 billion.

It also became known that NATO is building a space command center in Germany to counter threats from Russia and China.
