Turkey is disrupting the peace process, designed to resolve the conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, and is leading to the aggravation of this problem. This opinion was expressed on Tuesday by the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US House of Representatives Eliot Engel (Democrat, from the state of New York).
“The United States, as the co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, should not turn a blind eye to Turkey’s disruption of the peace process, as well as the aggravation of the conflict, which is already showing a tendency to a sharp escalation,” reads a written statement circulated by this influential American legislator.
According to him, “the influence of external actors such as Turkey recklessly intervening in the conflict is alarming.”
