The Polish Internal Security Agency (ABB) has detained a citizen of the Republic of Marcin K. (the last name is not called under Polish law), suspected of collaborating with the Russian special services and passing them information related to the military industry. This was announced on Monday by the press secretary of the minister coordinating the work of the Polish special services, Stanislav Sharyn.
“On May 5, 2021, employees of the Internal Security Agency detained a 43-year-old man on suspicion of espionage. According to the materials collected by the ABB, the aforementioned Polish citizen collaborated with the Russian special services,“ he informed.
According to the investigation, the suspect performed the tasks assigned to him, including providing the Russian special services with information and materials from the military industry, as well as about legal entities and Polish citizens.
It is reported that the detainee confessed to the actions imputed to him. The court ordered a three-month arrest. Investigators, in this case, conducted searches, questioned witnesses, collected items and documents that added to the evidence base. All the materials of the investigation are classified.
