The Greeks will be paid 150 euros for vaccination

The Greek government has promised young Greeks a cash payment for vaccination. This was announced by the country’s Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the Associated Press reports.

Payments in the amount of 150 euros can be spent on tickets for trains, planes, and ferries, subscriptions to cultural institutions, car rental, or booking camping sites.

“We hope that young people will take advantage of this opportunity. The state thanks to you for your responsible behavior — for what, I am sure, you would have done anyway, ” Mitsotakis said in a televised speech.

The Greek government also announced that it will lift a number of measures for those who received the vaccine, but the details of this decision are not yet clear. According to the authorities, approximately 35 percent of Greeks will be vaccinated by the end of June, and 48 percent of the country’s residents are planned to be vaccinated by the end of July.
