On Wednesday, French President Emmanuel Macron announced Saturday night curfews in the Ile-de-France region, where Paris is located, and in eight other cities in the country, due to the accelerating spread of COVID-19.
According to the president, the curfew from 21:00 to 06:00 local time will be in effect for at least four weeks. This measure, in addition to the Paris region, will apply to Grenoble, Lille, Lyon, Toulouse, Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, Montpellier, Saint-Etienne, and Rouen.
Macron explained that such a measure excludes going to restaurants and meeting friends after 21:00. He noted that anyone who will be out of the house during curfew needs a good reason. Violation of this rule will result in a €135 fine.
Also, according to Macron, you should avoid meeting more than six people at the table in the family circle. Exceptions are families with more than six members.
