The Chechen newspaper Vesti Respubliki has published cartoons of the French edition of Charlie Hebdo. This was announced by the editorial board of the newspaper on its website.
“Charlie Hebdo has completely vulgarized such a wonderful creative genre as a caricature. Taking this into account, our newspaper decided to give a worthy answer to Western pseudo-journalists and show what a pictorial satire performed by self-respecting professional media should actually look like, ” the journalists said.
The editorial board also condemned the actions of the French authorities, which, in their opinion, are a provocation. According to journalists, the cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad are “a direct insult to the feelings of Muslims around the world.”
According to the Minister of Information and Press of Chechnya Akhmed Dudayev, the cartoons were published on the newspaper’s Instagram account, but the social network removed the post.
