The British Air Force announced the interception of two Russian Tu-142

The British Air Force said that British fighter jets intercepted two Russian Tu-142 anti-submarine aircraft near the country’s airspace.

According to the statement of the British military, Typhoon fighters were lifted into the air from the airbase in the Scottish city of Lossiemouth to intercept and monitor Russian aircraft. No border violations are reported.

Earlier, the deputy chief of staff of the US Air Force, General Clinton Heinout, said that last year the US intercepted a record number of Russian military aircraft from Alaska since the Cold War. So, according to him, there is now a trend of climate warming in the Arctic, which contributes to the growth of activity.
