The authorities of the Swiss city of Basel offered the beggars to participate in the deal: in exchange for a written promise not to return to the country, they will receive a ticket to any European city, the media write.
The publication writes Basler Zeitung with reference to the official representative of the local Department of Justice and Security Toprak Egruz that the beggars “ sign a commitment not to return to Switzerland — at least for a specified period of time.”
For violating such an agreement, beggars face deportation from the country.
