Spanish Cabinet approved the introduction of a high alert regime in Madrid

The Spanish government approved on Friday the introduction of a high alert regime in the Autonomous Community of Madrid to contain the spread of the new coronavirus. This was announced by the 24 Horas TV channel.

An emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers of is taking place at this moment. Sources in the country’s government have confirmed the decision to introduce a high alert mode. This measure will limit entry and exit from the capital of the country and nine other settlements.

The Autonomous Community of Madrid is the most affected region in the country due to infection: since the beginning of the spread of the  in Spain, 848 thousand cases have been identified, of which 259 thousand are in Madrid.
