Spanish authorities are ready to temporarily accept some Afghan nationals who cooperated with EU countries under the government of fugitive Ashraf Ghani.
“Spain invites EU High Representative Josep Borrell to temporarily receive Afghans who worked for the European Union until they are distributed among member countries,” Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said in his official social media account.
Two military transport planes flew from Zaragoza to pick up representatives of the Spanish embassy, other Spanish citizens, as well as Afghans who cooperated with them, and their families. Whether it will be a single flight is not yet known.
