The National Institute of Public Health recommended that the country’s authorities buy vaccines against coronavirus infection, which are waiting for regulatory approval. These include Russia’s Sputnik V, the state-run Slovenian news agency STA reports.
The head of the group, Bojana Beovic, clarified that the drugs will be stored in the so—called quarantine warehouses, and can be used immediately after approval by the regulator, — said in a statement from the representative of the National Institute of Public Health.
According to data for April 16, 230,826 people were infected with coronavirus infection in Slovenia. 4147 died.
Earlier, the Indian authorities approved the use of the Russian vaccine against the coronavirus “Sputnik V” for vaccination. The application was approved by India’s state medicines regulator. Now the decision should be made by the General Controller of Medicines of the country and only after that the Russian drug will begin to vaccinate the population.
Specialists of the World Health Organization will check the production of Sputnik V in May and June. The decision after the inspection will be made after receiving all the data and conducting inspections.
