The Scottish government has announced an experiment to introduce a four-day workweek at some enterprises. It was reported by The Scotsman.
Reportedly, businesses that will move to a four-day workweek will be paid €10 million. But despite the fact that the working week will be shortened, wages will remain at the same level.
“A shorter workweek can help keep better quality jobs and improve well-being,” the government said.
Earlier, a plan to gradually limit working hours was presented by the Scottish National Party, which won the last election. It is known that according to the results of surveys, almost 90% of working citizens approved of the reform.
However, it is not reported which enterprises and sectors of the economy will be involved in the experiment.
