The class-action lawsuit was filed on April 27, 2021, in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. Samsung is accused of fraud, breach of warranty, and several consumer protection laws. The document states that the phones were sold with a defect concerning the glass coating of the main camera module, which ” breaks spontaneously, without the use of external force, even when the phone is placed in a protective case.”
