Fashion journalist Richard Buckley, a partner of designer and director Tom Ford, passed away at the age of 73. He died on September 19 after a long illness.
“It is with great sadness that Tom Ford announces the death of his beloved husband Richard Buckley, with whom they were together for 35 years,” the statement said. — Richard passed away peacefully at their home in Los Angeles, next to Tom and their son Jack. He died a natural death after an extended illness.”
Richard Buckley began his career as a fashion journalist in 1979 at New York Magazine. He collaborated with Vanity Fair, was editor-in-chief of Italian Vogue, and then headed Vogue magazine’s men’s version, Vogue Hommes International. Richard met Tom Ford, 60, at a fashion show in 1986. In 2014, they got married. In 2012, the couple had a son Jack, who was carried by a surrogate mother.
