A protest against the three-week national quarantine imposed by the Greek authorities, during which participants threw paint bottles at police officers, was held on Friday in Thessaloniki, and five people were detained. This was reported by the Proto Thema newspaper.
According to her, the protest action was organized through social networks. Several dozen people came to the White Tower in the city center, a tourist attraction in the northern Greek capital. At first, they chanted slogans, and when the police demanded that they disperse since the requirements for social distance introduced due to the pandemic are not being respected, activists began to throw bottles of paint at the police. One of the guards was slightly injured.
The police responded with tear gas and stun grenades and dispersed the protest. Five people were detained.
