Poll: Social Democrats retain leadership in Germany | Elections

The majority of Germans have already decided for what party they will vote at the federal on September 26.

This is evidenced by the results of a poll carried out by the Civey Research Institute on behalf of Spiegel on Sunday.

77% of respondents were firmly convinced of their choice, while 23% were undecided. The same company did not conduct a similar survey before the 2017 election, but a survey by the Wahlen research group showed then that about 40% were still undecided a week before the vote.

The proportion of respondents who have already decided their vote is particularly high among supporters of the Greens, the Left, and the AfD.

Among the top three political forces, the SPD retains the leadership with 25%, the Christian-Democratic Union is ready to support 23%, the Greens — 17%.
