Pfizer / BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine has been shown to be highly effective in neutralizing new strains of coronavirus.
Bloomberg reports, citing data from a new study published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
In laboratory experiments, the vaccine reportedly showed “roughly equivalent” levels of neutralizing activity against strains from Brazil and the UK compared to the version of the virus known early last year. It also showed “persistent but lower” activity against the South African variant.
Earlier it was reported that WHO does not support the introduction of vaccination passports against coronavirus, which are going to be introduced in the European Union.
