Pfizer ships first batch of coronavirus vaccine to Europe

U.S. pharmaceutical company Pfizer on Wednesday, December 23, shipped the first batch of a vaccine against coronavirus COVID-19, developed in collaboration with German BioNTech, to the European Union.

This was reported by Medical Xpress.

Three trucks carrying freezers left the company’s plant in northeastern Belgium, near Antwerp — each accompanied by two police cars.

Pfizer declined to say which EU countries the first shipments were going to.

Recall that the European Commission officially gave permission to use the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine in the European Union after the European Medicines Agency recommended its approval.
