NYPD to switch to 12-hour shifts due to protests

The New York City Police Department will switch to an enhanced mode of operation from April 19 due to the increased risk of mass riots. This is reported by the New York Post. It is reported that the guards will be on duty for 12 hours a day instead of eight. In addition, they will not be able to go on vacation until September.

Recall that mass in the United States began after the death of a black resident of Minnesota, Dante Wright. He was killed by the guards during the detention. The last three nights of clashes between protesters and law enforcement officers took place in the suburbs of Minneapolis and Portland (Oregon).
